Mrs. Louise W. Atwood, formerly of Saraland, AL, went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2013 at her daughter's home. Funeral services for Mrs. Atwood will be Friday, May 10 at 12 noon at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, AL. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Presnall and Rev. Barry Holland. Burial will immediately follow the service in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saraland. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday night at Radney's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour before the funeral service on Friday. Mrs. Atwood is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years William "Bill" Atwood, her parents Harvey Waltman Sr. and Pallie Latham Waltman; her brothers Fred Waltman, Finnis Waltman, Lonnie Waltman and Harvey Waltman, Jr.; her sisters Lucy Waltman Fleming, Connie Lee Waltman Napp, Donnie Mae Waltman, and Laverne Waltman Epperson. Mrs. Atwood is survived by her daughter Melissa "Lisa" (Gary) Gay of Northport, AL and her brother Richard "Buddy" (Carolyn) Waltman of Meridian, MS. Mrs. Atwood was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Northport, AL. She was a long time member of Axis First Baptist Church, Axis, AL. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of Carrie Woodson Chapter #569 in Eight Mile, AL. Mrs. Atwood was happiest when she was singing for our Lord and being with family and friends. Pallbearers will be nephews Rodney Waltman of Satsuma, AL, Michael Waltman of Citronelle, AL, Danny Napp of Meridian, MS, Wayne Fleming of Shubuta, MS, Dennis England of Saraland, AL, and Donald Chancey of Satsuma, AL. Honorary Pallbearers will be all nephews. Flowers will be accepted or please make a donation to Hospice of West Alabama. Condolences may be offered at
