Lucille Grandquest Byrd

Lucille Grandquest Byrd – age 92, born to the late William Otto and Minnie Grandquest in Whistler, AL, longtime resident of Mobile, and a resident of Sarasota, FL since 2001, passed away April 30, 2012. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1937, and grew up attending Whistler Methodist Church, accepting Jesus Christ as her savior in her youth. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Woodrow W. Byrd. She is survived by her son, Wayne W. (Mary Causey) Byrd of Woodbridge, VA; daughter, Cynthia Kay (Raymond Coyett) Mott of Sarasota; four grandsons: Kevin Mott and Barry Mott of Sarasota, Michael Byrd of Mooresville, NC, and John Byrd of San Diego, CA; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 10-11:30 a.m. Private interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Myers Memorial Baptist Church, 307 S. Shelton Beach Rd., Eight Mile, AL 36613.
