Marian Pate Long Yearby

Marian Elizabeth Long Pate Yearby – 81, a life-long resident of Eight Mile, AL went to be with Jesus on March 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Pringle Long; her first husband of 43 years, Buford James Pate; her second husband of 11 years, James W. Yearby; her brother, David Long; her sister, Frances Patrick; and two children, Baby Pate and Alice Hall George. She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her sister, Shirley Ann Whitlock; her six children, Diane Cochran (Danny), James Pate (Annette), Wanda Hannon (Bill), Rodney Pate (Sonja), Paula Pate, and Gregory “Jody” Pate (Stephanie); her 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends. She was a life-long member of Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church, active in Sunday School, and a devoted child of God. She will be eternally remembered as the most unselfish, loving and gracious sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, all of whom she gave the most wondrous gift – the unconditional love of her heart. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wolf Ridge Cemetery.
