Martha Genae Pope Benjamin – age 74, a longtime resident of Satsuma, AL passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 in a local hospital.

She retired from the Mobile County Public School System with more than 30+ years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dock and Inez Pope; and her sister, Betty Jean Pope Burr.

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Robert W. Benjamin; her sister, Diane Saranthus (Jerry, dec.); three nieces, Beth Burr, Lori Saranthus Patterson (Kenny), and Ashley Inez Taylor (Anthony Chase); numerous great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services and interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Hoboken Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL.
