Mary Griffin Ramer

Mary was born in Conecuh County, Alabama, on a special Valentine's Day to the late George Malcolm Griffin and his wife, Odie Bell Griffin.

After graduating from Lyeffion High School, Mary began a career spanning more than 38 years, working for South Central Bell, AT&T, and Mobile Gas. She served in both customer service and sales and was recognized regularly for her dedication and work ethic with customer service awards. Mary also enjoyed creating a loving home for her husband of 57 years, Don, and their daughter, Donna. She was a lifelong and avid reader, gardener, crafter, and devoted United Methodist.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Donna Elizabeth Ramer; granddaughter, Savannah Hope Ramer Eberly; niece, Cathy Miller Cox (Dennis); nephews, Seale (Gayle) Williamson, R. Wayne Boswell, and Donnie Brantley; as well as grandnieces and grandnephews who will miss her and cherish her memory.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Odie Bell and Mac Griffin; her husband, Donald; sisters, Betty June McNeil and Annie Pearl Miller; her brother, Joseph "Bill" Griffin; as well as her beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law.

The family asks that you remember Mary by supporting your local library, reading to your children and grandchildren, or by rediscovering your own favorite book to treasure, just as she loved her At Home in Mitford series.

A Committal Service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Crematory, 9700 Celeste Rd, Saraland, AL 36571 on July 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
