Maurice was a retired Boilermaker who loved fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He had a servant’s heart and especially enjoyed helping senior citizens in the community by mowing their lawns and lending a helping hand whenever needed. Most mornings, you could find him at the bait shop, selling bait, visiting with his buddies, and enjoying the simple moments he loved so much. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Mary Schulz Helterbrand; stepchildren, Christina Hudson and Ronald Dyess; grandchildren, Laiten Hudson and Kelsey Dyess Rotch; great-grandchild, Bennett Rotch; sisters, Angela, Tammy, and Tonya; and special family and friends: Clayton, Mike, Kirk, John, Mr. Melvin, Randy, Neil, Bobby, Linda, Melody, Regina, Rachel, and Triston. He is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alma Gibson, and his brother, Richard Gibson.
Private services will be held at a later date.
