Mrs. Melba Lee Mitchell – born August 29, 1921 in Covington County, Alabama and a resident of Satsuma, Alabama since 1952 died on August 31, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Mitchell was a bus driver for the Mobile County Public School System for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Mitchell; and one son, Johnny Levar Mitchell. She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Joann) Mitchell and Charles S. (Lynne) Mitchell; one daughter-in-law, Viola Mitchell; three sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, with Pastor Roy Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church of Satsuma. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
