Melvin Edwin York an 80 year-old native of Coffeeville, AL and a longtime resident of Satsuma passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Juanice M. York, and sister, Blanche Hicks. Mr. York is survived by his children, Michael E. York (Sherry) and Bonita York Goram (Michael); grandchildren, Shelby York, Myles York, Sheena Mizell, and Dustin Mizell; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Satsuma Public Library, 5466 Old U.S. 43, Satsuma, AL 36572.
