Michael Wayne Higgins

Mr. Michael W. Higgins, age 68, resident of Semmes, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Geneva T. Higgins and brother, William D. Higgins.

Mr. Higgins was employed by Bender and Signal Shipyards for 40 years, retiring six years ago. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids playing in the pool, working in the yard and watching Alabama football. He will be remembered for his goodness and helping anyone who needed a helping hand.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pam and children; Steve Higgins (Lori), April Borasio (Borgus) . He is also survived by his grandchildren; Alycia Edmonds (Asher), Sierra Higgins, Clint Borasio, Dylan Higgins, great-granddaughter, Adalyn Edmonds, three sisters, Rita Higgins, Sheila Bryan, Susan Hutchinson (John), cousin, Debbie Elliott and other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his pal, Pepper the Schnauzer. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Chapel services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.
