Mildred Louise Evans

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 on Friday, August 21st at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 with the Reverend Spence Walker of Center Pointe Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home - Saraland.

Mrs. Evans was born in Escambia County, AL to Lawrence Albert "Sonny" Franklin, Sr. and Patsy Viola "Ola" Hobbs Franklin. She went to school at Brewton, Alabama. She married John Mason McGugin in 1949 in Brewton. She worked at various jobs in Mobile, including Moore-Handley Hardware, International Paper Company in Mobile, and eventually working at the Sears Warehouse until she retired. She was an active member of CenterPointe Assembly of God, formerly known as Chickasaw Assembly of God, for decades.

Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by her husband and father of her two daughters John Mason McGugin. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Eldridge "Happy" Evans of Saraland. She is also preceded in death by both of her parents and six of her seven siblings.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her daughters, Gail M. (Joe) Shackelford, Mobile, AL, Patsy (Donald) Hatcher, Daphne, AL; one brother, Lawrence Albert "Bo" (Judy) Franklin, Jr, Appleton, AL; grandchildren, Brandon Andrew (Minami) Shackelford, US Navy Lemoore, CA, Jonathan Parker (Shannon) Shackelford, Theodore, AL, Jeremy Hatcher, Pensacola, FL, Amy Hatcher, Daphne, AL, Alexandra (Allie) Hatcher, Spanish Fort, AL; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Many special friends who have loved her and blessed her over the years.
