

Nobie Lee Johnson Giddens – a 94 year-old native of Andalusia, AL and a longtime resident of Saraland passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church and was a current member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and ceramics and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Giddens; parents, John Hubert Johnson and Ludie Bringhurst Johnson; daughter, Dorothy Greene and her husband, Doug Greene; great-grandson, Jason Smyly; sisters, Eula Mae Norsworthy, and Theo Smith; brother, Johnny Johnson; and special sister-in-law, Jane Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Kvalheim (Nels); sister, Ann Lee; brothers, James Johnson, George Hubert Johnson, and Samuel Johnson (Rebekah); 7 granddaughters, Nora Wiggins, Gloria Pitts (Mike Sanderson), Adra Smith, Betty Zolopany (Mark), Stephanie Doyal (Dewayne), Ashley Smyly (Rusty), and Dodie Smith (Kevin); 16 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer special thanks to Springhill Senior Residence, and the staffs of Wiregrass and Odyssey Hospices, especially Mrs. Giddens’ nurse, Tori Jenkins. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, April 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
