Richard Hartwell Cook, Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Monday, September 25, 2017, at Providence Hospital. Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Air Force from Jan. 1961 to Jan. 1967. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Cardwell Cook and Quinton Cook; his twin brother, Edward Anthony Cook; and his son, Richard Hartwell Cook, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Bolen Cook; two daughters, Leslie Ann (Harlon) Schrimpshire and Cheryl Lynn Bertram; three grandchildren, Alex Schrimpshire, Dillon Cook, and Jessica Andrus; and many other relatives by blood and marriage and many special friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wayne Parnell, Steve Parnell, Tom Bolen, Robbie George, Alex Schrimpshire, Dillon Cook, and Jeremy Parnell.
