Samuel Parker Granade

Samuel Parker Granade departed this life surrounded by his loved ones May 21, 2022. Sammy was born March 24, 1947, in St. Stephens, Alabama. After graduating from Vigor High School in 1965, he worked for Teledyne Continental Motors for 41 years before retiring to become a full time “Poppy.” Sammy was Poppy to many, but his seven grandchildren brought him the most joy. Being with his family was his favorite pastime. Sammy was a car enthusiast, attending car shows with his wife as often as possible. He loved all cars, but corvettes were his favorite.

Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Kervin Granade and Robbie Estelle Granade.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Jernigan Granade; son, Tracy (Kandace) Granade; son, Jody (Melanie) Granade; and daughter, Kelli (Jake) Skidmore; grandchildren, Ty and Torri Granade, Lorren and Preston Granade, and Graci, Caroline, and Claire Skidmore; two sisters, Elaine Goldman and Cornelia Moseley; and a host of other dear family and friends.

A celebration of Sammy’s life will be held at Destination Church in Saraland on Friday, May 27, 2022. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 until 3:00 with a service immediately following.
