

Thelma Eugenia Rester Sheffield, 78, was born on January 26, 1943, in Semmes, Alabama, to the late Murray LV and Thelma Cowart Rester. Called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Thelma passed on November 29, 2021, in the comfort of her own residence in Wilmer, Alabama surrounded by loving family. Thelma always enjoyed spending quality time in yard work and tending to gardens. In her younger years, Thelma was voted most popular and was captain of the cheerleading squad. She valued precious time spent with her family and enjoyed visiting with them.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Anita Thompson, Betty Parker, one brother, Murray Rester, two brothers-in-law: Larry Sheffield, Don Sheffield, mother-in-law, Evelyn Sheffield, and father-in-law, Kermit Sheffield.
Left to cherish Thelma’s beautiful memories will be her beloved husband; Jerry L. Sheffield; two sons: Jeffery Sheffield, David Teague, one brother, Terry Rester; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and numerous wonderful friends.
Honoring Thelma as pallbearers will be Steve Sheffield, Johnny Sheffield, Colton Sheffield, Wayne Sheffield, Brad Sheffield, and Scott Sheffield.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to family and friends for the care, compassion, and prayers provided during such a valued time of need.

The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama 36571 with Bro. Reggie Whiddon officiating.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Shady Grove Cemetery, Airport, Mobile, Alabama.
