Tonya was a local business owner who established and operated Tonya's Floral & Gift Mart in Creola for more than 38 years. As a master designer, she served as the Southwest director of the Alabama Florist Association for 8 years and in 1990 she was awarded the Alabama State Designer of the Year. She attended Satsuma High School and was a member of the first cheerleading squad at Satsuma High School. She was an active member of Free Life Church, formerly known as Creola Assembly of God Church, where she served in multiple capacities spanning over 50 years. She supported international missions and traveled abroad on multiple occasions to India and Indonesia in support of Orphans and Unwed Mothers. She was an excellent cook, loved to travel, shop, and spend quality time with her family and friends.
Tonya was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Kenneth Moss, her parents; Robert and Evelyn Williams, and sister; Ellen William Ross(Herman).
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Tonya Michal May (Michael), and Kimberly Moss McCain (John). Three grand-children, Benjamin May (Melissa), Matthew May (Nicole), and Hayley McCain Ford (Thomas). Two great grand-daughters, Temperance and Addison May. One brother-in-law, Herman Ross and a special sister-in-law, Helen (Tiny) Corley, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who she loved dearly.
Honoring Tonya as pallbearers will be Benjamin May, Matthew May, David Moss, Brent Moss, Jonathon Moss, and Robin Ross.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Free Life Church, 9580 Old Highway 43 in Creola, AL. Visitation will begin at 11am and the service will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will immediately follow at Creola Cemetery.
