Vesta Mae George Byrd – born January 6, 1938, died December 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Byrd, Jr.; her parents, Russell and Mae George; and one brother, Russell Laverne George. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Robby) Byrd and Darlene (Johnny) Garris; one brother, Willie Elmer (Frances) George; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of other family and many lifelong friends. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Georgetown Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Georgetown Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Brunson officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Rob Byrd, Jeremy Williams, Chad Byrd, Mitchell Williams, Logan Byrd, Leslie Moye, Steven Garris and Amber Moye. Interment will be in Lott Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Covenant Hospice.
