Obituary of Virginia Ann Fredrickson
Virginia Ann Pierce Fredrickson was born in Dallas, Texas on Feb. 7, 1939. She passed away in her home on Jan. 15, 2022. She was married to the love of her life, Donald Fredrickson, on July 3, 1969. They were married for 52 years. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Christine Pierce, as well as, 2 brothers, James Artis Pierce and Elvin Pierce, Sr. and 1 sister, Cyriline Pierce Cantrell. Virginia is survived by 2 sons, Mark Barlow of Satsuma, AL and Scooter Fredrickson and wife Meredith, of Orange Beach, AL and stepdaughter, Heather Fredrickson of Orange Beach, AL. Grandchildren are Kelly Barlow Huff and husband Chase, Alan Barlow, Terra Fredrickson, Mallory Fredrickson and Evan Skipper. 1 great grandson, Jude Huff. Virginia has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved very much! Virginia is, also, survived by 1 brother, Lamar Red Pierce and Mary Helen, 3 sisters, Marilyn Lambert and Linda Brewer, all of Satsuma, and Donnette Pierce Siems and husband Greg, of Kansas City, MO. Virginia graduated from Vigor High School 1957 and attended William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. Virginia retired from DuPont Corp. in Oct. 1999. Once she and Don both retired they purchased a motorhome and enjoyed traveling and camping with their motorhome club. Virginia loved her large family! She loved all the gatherings and loved baking for them:) She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. She will be greatly missed, yet we are all so thankful that she is with her Heavenly Father and we will be with her again one day! A special Thank You to Hughes Home Care and Kindred Hospice for helping in her long fight with dementia. In lieu in flowers, please, make a donation to First Baptist Church of Satsuma, 5600 Old Highway, 43, Satsuma, Alabama 36572 where she grew up and raised her boys there. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Satsuma. Visitation on Friday, January 21, 202 will be held from noon until service time, Celebration of Life Service will be held in the church at 1:00 p.m. Burial following the service at Satsuma Cemetery Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.RadneyFuneralHome-Saraland.com for the Fredrickson family.
