

W.C. Squires, Jr. – a 74 year-old native of Clarke County and resident of Satsuma passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Mr. Squires served as a Sergeant with the Saraland Police Department for 24 years, before transferring to the Mobile County Sheriff's Department from which he retired after a total of 30 years in law enforcement. He later worked with Mobile Paperboard for 10 years. Mr. Squires was a veteran of the Army National Guard, loved hunting, and enjoyed fishing. The most important thing in his life though, was his family. Mr. Squires was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Stanley Squires. He is survived by his sons, William "Clay" Squires, III (Loretta) and Scott Squires (Lee Anne); three grandsons, William "Clay" Squires, IV, Timothy Squires, and Scott Squires, Jr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 20, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
