William Billy Leighton Reeves Sr

June 5, 1938 - June 4, 2015 William L. Reeves, Sr., age 76, born in Leroy, AL and a longtime resident of Satsuma, AL died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Mobile Infirmary. He retired as a Superintendent at International Paper Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church Satsuma since 1965. He has served there as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Usher, Yokefellow, Brotherhood Breakfast Chairman, and served on most committees for many years. He received the Volunteer of the Year award for service to the citizens of Satsuma and was nominated for Citizen of the Year 2014. He has served on the City's Board of Adjustments for over 20 years, including 7 terms as Chairman. He has held membership in Satsuma's Howard E. Blackwell Lodge for 47 years, and participated in many of their community service activities. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Flora E. Goldman Reeves of Satsuma, AL; his children, Kim Reeves (Don) Setser of Saraland, AL, J.B. Reeves (Jerry) Locke of Satsuma, AL; three brothers, Edward "Buster" (Alice) Reeves, Johnny (Roxanne) Reeves, Roger Reeves all of Leroy, AL; four grandchildren, Stacy Reeves (Josh) Cole, Brittany Reeves, Corey and Callie Setser; two great grandchildren, Brady and Jacee Cole; as well as many other family members and friends, especially his devoted coffee drinking buddies. He is preceded in death by his son, William L. "Bill" Reeves, Jr. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Doctors Jacob B. Webster, Cynthia Crowder Hicks and Terry T. Wilsdorf, and the many caregivers at Mobile Infirmary, Unit 3 Southeast. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL. The service will be on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL., and Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
