Willie Lee “Bill” Davis, Jr. – age 85, born in Lake Wales, FL, raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile and Saraland passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 09, 2013. Mr. Davis was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. After the war, Mr. Davis began a long career in the civil service for the U.S. Air Force serving at Brookley Air Force Base for many years before retiring from Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX as Deputy Chief of Supply. He was a member of Gateway Ministries in Saraland. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee Davis Sr. and Mae Belle Davis, and sisters, Stella Pipkin and Betty Woodard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Margaret Davis; children, Ronnie Davis (Linda) and Linda Williams (Palmer); 6 grandchildren, Teresa Adcock (David), Leigh Morton (Joey), and Buffie Rhodes (Don), Tammy Minchew (Steven), Michael Williams (Kim), and Scott Williams; 11 great-grandchildren, Adam and Kennedy Adcock, Claire Anne and Cole Morton, Brantley and Davis Rhodes, Blayne and Brendon Minchew, and Jonathan, Jake, and Joseph Williams; other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
