

Mr. Woodrow “Woody” Franklin Wilson, age 62, longtime resident of Saraland, AL, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his father, John E. Wilson, and three brothers, Ollie, Francis and Rusty Wilson. Woody retired after over 40 years of service with the Ironworkers Local 798. He served his country honorably in the United States Army serving as a Paratrooper in Special Forces in the Vietnam Era. One of his proudest accomplishments was having taught mathematics at West Point Academy. He enjoyed watching Nascar and loved his time spent with his family. Woody is survived by his wife, Carol A. Wilson, his mother, Irma F. Wilson and daughters, Michelle George (Travis), Mindy Wilson and Mary K. Wilson. He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Roberts, John Curtis Wilson (Betty), Sylvia Stewart (David), Jerry York, Douglas Wilson (Jeanette), Ralph Michael Wilson (Nona), and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Chapel services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
