Mrs. Yvonne May Dossett, age 80 years old, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Mrs. Dossett is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis A. and Emma Rivers May, brothers, Curtis A. May, Jr. and Dennis May and sisters Dorothy Wadsworth and Louise Young. She is retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers after 29 years of service. She was a native of Eight Mile, living there for 52 years and was a resident of Semmes for 28 years. She was as a lifetime member of Indian Springs Pathway Ministries where she taught Sunday School, was President of the Ladies Ministry, was a member of the Prayer Group, Tuesday Morning and Monday Night Bible Study, the Prayer Call Line, Benevolent Committee, was a gifted seamstress, sewing many years of Christmas, Easter and Children’s Ministries costumes, banners, flags, curtains and many other Church ministries. She started Healing Prayer Ministry, leader and coordinator of Merry Christmas Mobile. Mrs. Dossett is survived by her husband of 64 years, Huey P. Dossett and children; Patsy D. Ledger (Johnny), Tracee D. Wiley, Lori D. McDuffie (Russell) and Amy D. Stanford (Kyle). She is also survived by her brothers, Henry M. May (Annette), Charles May (Barbara), and sisters-in-law, Alice May and Linda Ruth May and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Indian Springs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Cowart, Garrett Cowart, Trent Dossett, Ashten Stanford, Charlie Bender, Stuart Garrettson, Russell McDuffie, Jr. and Robby Lister.
