Abe attended Fordham University in New York City. He retired after 13 years as a Security Officer from Columbia University, while being a union representative for TWU Local 221.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Blanca; loving siblings, Carmen Gannon (James) of Vernon, NJ, Raquel Pape of Wayne, NJ, Samuel Calderon (Joann) of Tampa, FL, Abigail Toner (Vinnie) of Montgomery, NY and Peter Calderon (Ilyse) of Long Island, NY; nieces and nephews, Christina Marchese, of Union, NJ, Joann Eng of Babylon, NY, Lauren Zielinski of Greenwich, CT, Kimberly Melanson of New York City, Alyssandra Gannon of Astoria, NY, Amanda Gannon of Vernon, NJ, Richard Eng of New York City, Samantha Calderon of Tampa, FL, Heather Eng of Montgomery, NY, Rachel Pape of Wayne, NY, Christopher Calderon of Tampa, FL, Matthew and Josh Calderon, both of Long Island, NY; grandniece and nephews, Gabriella Rizo and Peyton Crespo, both of Union, NJ and Liam Melanson of New York City; and cousins, David and Yuette Velez.
A visitation for Abe will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with funeral services that will follow on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 9:00 AM, both at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
