Annette was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida; the second of five children. Her early years at Ascension Catholic School provided a strong foundation of her unbidding faith. She then graduated from Eau Gallie High School with many achievements, even being crowned Homecoming Queen with her father at her side. She was a talented individual and involved in sports, cheerleading, music, arts and surfing, and Yoga with her mom.
Annette attended Brevard Community College and graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising. It was at the University of Florida (UF), Annette met her future husband Dennis. Together, both became staunch Gator fans.
Annette and Dennis married in 1989. Before leaving UF, Annette accompanied Dennis’ Landscape Architecture Class on a five-week tour of the great European gardens.
Annette had an amazing career in retail marketing, which started with Chicos and then with Bealls Florida for 22 years holding various creative management positions. Due to her health, Annette resigned. Once at home full-time Annette morphed into management support for Dennis A Barth Landscape Architect LLC.
Preceded by their son, Tristan, she continued to live his motto, “Live Your Best Life”.
Annette enjoyed music, travel and nature. She was very devoted to her faith, family and friends. She never missed an opportunity to help celebrate other’s special occasions. For Annette, any day would be perfect taking a drive to Lido Beach or Sarasota Bay, followed by a Cuban meal or pizza and beer.
Annette spent a 25-year journey with Ovarian Cancer. During those years seeking treatment took many a number of medical centers including the US and Mexico. In the end, Annette’s love for travel realized a lifelong goal to visit Spain with Dennis.
She was resilient and battled as a true warrior and inspired all who witnessed her journey. Along her journey, Annette became an ambassador for the Clearity Foundation counselling many on their Ovarian Cancer journeys. Her personal research expanded this knowledge to medical professionals alike.
She leaves a deep void among her family and dear friends. Her spirit will forever live on. Annette’s Faith guided her to serve as a lector at St. Martha Catholic Church from time to time as her health allowed. We pray that heart-felt void will be replaced only with happy memories.
