Tony started working in bakeries when he was just ten years old. In 1980, he and his wife Judy opened Antonio’s Home Bakery in Warwick. His love for his family was apparent in everything he did, including his work, and the bakery was largely a family operation. Tony and Judy moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1989 and opened another bakery on the corner of Proctor and Swift.
In recent years, Tony loved spending time tinkering around in his garage, tricking out his golf cart, terrorizing the fish in any lake he could find, and spending time with his beloved family and friends. Tony’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ never faltered throughout the many trials he faced with his health. Truly a selfless and resilient fighter, he will be remembered not only as the baker but also as a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Clara (Pascone), and his sister Beverly (Tarantino).
Tony is survived by his wife Judy of over 45 years and his children: Anthony (Susan), Stephen (Lori) and David DeFusco all of Rhode Island and Cindy (Steve) Colonna and Debbie (Joseph) Penge of Florida. His ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Stephen, Joseph, Gina, David, Kristen, Carly, Clino and Andrew and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Lillian.
