Antoinette Borsellino

It is with deep sorrow to announce that Antoinette Borsellino, 85, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 29th, with her family surrounding her. She was born on January 27, 1940, in Villarosa, in the province of Enna, Sicilia, Italy, to the late Francesco and Giovanna LaPaglia. Antoinette emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 10, settling in the New York City area until she retired to Sarasota in 1989.

Throughout her life, Antoinette was renowned as a gifted seamstress and owner of a dry cleaning business. She was a loving wife, mother, devoted daughter, sister, and loyal friend. Antoinette and her husband enjoyed their retirement years together, visiting with and often hosting family and friends. She and her husband especially cherished their roles as grandparents and great-grandparents, creating many special memories at their home in Sarasota.

In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Calogero Borsellino, and her sisters, Rose and Teresa. She is survived by her children, Jenny (Thomas) Trakoval, Leonard (Louise) DiStefano, Marie (Lawrence) Pellerito, and Josephine, grandchildren Melissa, Maria, Danielle, Cassandra, Stephanie, Gregory, Adam, and Amanda, great grandchildren, siblings, in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday August 15 at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota FL from 4-8 pm and Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2901 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota FL at noon on Saturday August 16 followed by internment at the Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota. Her love and guidance will forever be in our hearts, and she will never be forgotten.
