Bradley J. Cranston

Brad attended school in northern Iowa, where he excelled in track, football and academics and graduated high school in Churdan, Iowa. He was a Boy Scout and earned the Order of the Arrow Eagle Scout achievement award.

Brad drove a Volkswagen van and pretended to be a hippy. He claimed that the van had the best air conditioner. He would roll down the two front windows and drive 60 mph. He called the a/c his “2-60” model.

After high school, he attended and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in General Engineering. After graduation he was employed in Saudi Arabia by the ARAMCO oil company.

When he returned to the States, he began his own fiber optics company and worked with the General Telephone Company. He owned several ADECCO employment offices in Sarasota, Clearwater and St Petersburg for 22 years, and most recently owned PostNet of Lakewood Ranch with his wife Shawna Hicks-Cranston happily serving the Lakewood Ranch community for the past 12 years.

Brad enjoyed playing golf, reading and watching his favorite Buccaneer football team.

Brad is survived by his wife Shawna Hicks-Cranston; his three children Justen, Austen and Elizabeth Cranston; two grandchildren AJ and Corbin Cranston; and six siblings Claudeen Buettner (Donald) Twin Falls, ID, Mark Cranston (Cathy) Jefferson, IA, Rebecca Hewitt of Belton, TX, Cindy Brauchi (John)Tempe, AZ, Mike Cranston of Twin Falls, ID, and Jay Cranston of Ft Dodge, IA.

A celebration of life gathering for Brad will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Waterlefe Golf & River Club, 1022 Fish Hook Cv, Bradenton, FL 34212, in The Lefe Room.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bradley's memory may be made to The Blessing Bags Project.
