

Breda passed away peacefully at home on 8/9/2021 at the age of 95.
Breda was born and raised in County Donegal, Ireland with 7 brothers and sisters. Breda joined the British Army and was stationed in Africa during WWII. She met and married a US Army Veteran, Carl Waters and immigrated to the United States in the 1940’s. They had 2 children: Kim Waters and John Waters.
Breda graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1960 with a teaching degree.
Breda taught high school English and History in the Swansea, MA area until she met her second husband, Carter Wilson. The couple married and had 1 child: Robin Wilson. The family traveled the world extensively for many years. Breda moved back to the United States after the marriage ended and she settled in Wellesley, MA with her daughter Robin.
Breda retired to Sarasota, Florida in the 1980’s. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, reading, crosswords, tennis, sailing and golf. She was a nature lover and greatly admired flowers and all animals. She volunteered for Mote Marine Aquarium and the Democratic Party in Sarasota. She was a very outgoing and friendly soul who loved good conversation, a great book, a happy hour cocktail and a beautiful sunset. She had many loyal friends all over the globe who she spoke with often.
Breda was predeceased by her parents; John and Mary Doogan, sisters; Anne, Mary and Margaret and her brothers; Neil and Sean. She is survived by her brothers: Jim (Margaret) Doogan and Eamon Doogan. Her children: Kim Waters, John (Carolyn) Waters, Robin Wilson and granddaughter Madison Parsons.
A Celebration of Life for Breda will be held on a future date.
