Mrs. Barclay was born on August 27, 1946, in Sarasota to the late Ernest B. and Muriel Ricketts Locklear. She was a 1964 graduate of Sarasota High School. Carolyn had a deep passion for genealogy and loved learning about family history. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and raising orchids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandchild, Chayne Ackerman; and her brother, Ronald B. Locklear.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Barclay; her children, Kimberly R. Ghazvini (Sia), Karin M. Botelho (Steve), and Kelli M. Soukup (Christian); her grandchildren, Pasha, Sophia, and Avah Ghazvini, Summer and Sienna Botelho, and Adela and Natalia Soukup; and her brother, Steven H. Locklear.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota. Refreshments will be served following at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
