Your father built up a great restaurant. He was a pleasure to meet. His food was outstanding. His enthusiasm was infectious. It is with heartfelt sorrow we found out about his passing. May God bless and help his family.   We will return to Burgundy Square as soon as we are allowed to do so.

Chuck a Rose and I were high school buddies, prom dates in Van Buren.  What a blessing it was to get to visit with him in January  after 40 years.   His boyhood charm and fun engaging personality was still a big part of him.  You will be missed Chuck!  Rest in peace!

A greeting, when he had time, a chat.  Great food, great resturant and great guy.  So very very sorry.  I can honestly say he had fun and loved life.  

Chuck was a friend for 28 years. We worked together at Boston Market. one of the best restaurant operators ever! I visited the Great Burgundy Square Café a couple of years ago to catch up! Will be missed! Great, fun, guy!

We are blessed to have known your father.  You two were VERY BLESSED to have a father so special and caring! He was so proud of you both!!  His smile was contagious!   Your father will continue to watch over you both the rest of your lives.  You both gained an angel!!

Chuck Cyr was the salt of the earth, a hardworking businessman with a love of family and friends! His laugh was infectious, his pranks hilarious, I’ve never heard a bad thing said about Chuck ever!
His passing was unexpected and untimely, You will be sadly miss Chuck.

Chuck was one of the most friendly, fun loving, warmest, giving men I have ever met.  He loved life, he loved his family and he loved his community.  His infectious energy and positive outlook brightened anyone's day.  His memory and spirit will live on through his children, patrons and team.  I will be forever thankful I knew this wonderful person.


I first meet chuck at his restaurant like so many. It became my favorite restaurant a few years back and I had the privilege of enjoying his great food , getting to know his kids and staff , and enjoy some good conversations hanging out at the counter while eating. Chuck was a good guy and I’m personally gonna miss seeing him and conversing. I hope Brianna  and Brandon keep this going and look forward to seeing them . Take care 


Burgundy square is my family’s go-to spot in Venice. I moved down to Venice island to live with my parents while my husband was deployed for almost a year and we spent lots of time at ‘Mr.Trucks’ (as my kids called it). I will always have fond memories of sitting outside with my kids covered in spaghetti sauce and Chuck laughing at how ridiculously messy they were. We will miss seeing him when we come in. My heart breaks for everyone’s lives he touched- especially his children ❤️❤️

Chuck,miss you buddy.Hard to believe we were laughing and having drinks a week ago.Chuck loved his family and his friends. Chuck was one of the hardest working guy's  I ever met. My heart breaks for Briana and Brandon. You had a great father he loved you so much.Chuck loved his Boston sports teams.Chuck was a great restaurantuer, he greeted all his patrons and made them feel like family. My family is deeply saddened by his passing. Miss you love you brother.

Chuck was a man who lived life to the fullest, cherished the friends he made, and loved his family to pieces. I'll never forget his infectious smile and laugh, and his generosity out did most. Thankful for all the times we had together with his huge family of "Brothers". RIP my friend.

It is a true tribute to a man when, although you have not met him personally, you truly feel you know him, and, most importantly, you respect and admire him.  Such it is with Chuck.  We are connected by our bond with Phi Mu Delta.  You and your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.  Rest In Peace, Brother.  

Chuck was a friend who had an infectious laugh that would get everyone laughing. He was a man who truly loved his fellow man/woman and would do anything for them. You left this world too soon my brother and will be sorely missed.

Always enjoyed his restaurant, the food and the atmosphere, always a smile on his face, stopped by every table to say hi, Lynette loved the lobster roll.

We met Chuck at the restaurant.  We had recently purchased a home from Bri and she told us to try Burgandy Square.  H e had a smile for everyone and so proud of his kids!  We will miss his face at the restaurant.  Love to the family.

I remember the first time I meet Chuck and ate at his restaurant. He had such a big heart and passion for life and his business. Always felt like home there . And his love for his children always was his biggest priority. My heat will be missing his daily post and smile 😃 

Chuck was a great boss, a great man and an amazing person! He was always laughing and helping those in need. He loved his restaurant and his employees, I will always cherish the time I got to spend with him working at Burgandy. 

Chuck was a warm hearted soul - he always had a joyful smile and was happy to see you. Truly missed! Love yah Chuck - blessed to have known you for the time I did!

Briana and Brandon:
My heart is heavy with the loss of your Dad. He was one of our favorite Venice chefs. He was just an all around great guy who put his heart and soul into being the Best of Venice every year.  He befriended us from the first time we enjoyed Burgundy Square.  I’ll never forget the time we ran into you guys at Norma Jean’s and he took the challenge of eating a Tomahawk 24oz. Ribeye.  He has left a legacy that will live on because the Cyr kids will build on what he established . 
We will miss his smiling face and running into him and his Food Truck at area events. God love him. 

I am so deeply sorry for this tremendous loss.  A man well loved and respected who will be missed by everyone.  Many of us have experienced this anguish and heart felt pain that you now are. I pray that each hour you find the strength to take on the next hour. One hour at a time. Your father now knows the answer the most sought after question man has wondered about for centuries...what is heaven really like? He is experiencing the most amazing journey right now. You will be in my prayers every day for the rest of my life.
You will see him again. 

Briana, Brandon, and BSQ Cafe Family: please know that we hold all of you in prayer at this most difficult time.  We will always remember being warmly greeted and seated by Chuck, even under the most hectic seasonal work load.  He always had a smile and a quick wit!
