He attended grade school through high school in Detroit, Michigan. He later attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL and was a member of the Tennis team. Clement was married to Rosalind Freeman Hopp, in 1969. He moved his family to Florida in 1976, due to his love of the sport of Tennis. He started playing at a young age. As an avid player, Clement won many championships, throughout his life, including the Florida, European and World Championships, continuing to play until the age of 94.
Clement is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosalind, as well as his children, Gary (Michele) Hopp, Bobbi (Kristin) Hopp and Elizabeth (David) Miller. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah, Maggie, Sydney, Ian, Jack, Izaak, and Madison. He is preceded in death by his children, Jeffery, and Julie Hopp, as well as his granddaughter, Morgan.
There will be a memorial service at Temple Emanuel, 151 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota, FL on Monday, September 8th at 11AM, with a brunch to follow.
