

Della C. (Watts) Trautwein of Bradenton, FL, made her peaceful exit from this world on May 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Della was born on April 20, 1933 in East Lynn, WV. She was a graduate of Wayne High School, class of 1951. Della lived in Wayne County, WV for 78 years, prior to relocating to Bradenton, FL in 2010. Della was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Roy Trautwein (d. 1997); parents, Dewey Watts (d.1999) & Dorothy (Carey) Watts (d. 2002); brothers, Danny Watts (d. 1963 ) & Dewey Raymond Watts (d. 2020 ); mother and father-In-Law, Carey Trautwein (d. 1978) & Reba (Riggs) Trautwein (d. 1981); niece, Doris Elaine “Bootsy” Parris (d. 2005); and grandson, James Brian Queen (d. 2010).
Della is survived by her siblings, Doris Castille of Akron, OH, Donna Holt of Carroll, OH, and Charles “Monk” Watts of South Point, OH; her children, Jack L. Trautwein (Pam Haney) of Lexington, KY & Jimmy L. Trautwein (Michael Mrazik) of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Jack K. Trautwein (Jennie Evans) of Paris, KY; Amy L. Trautwein (Amanda Perkins) of Toledo, OH; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Queen, of Ivor, VA; Luke & Jake Trautwein, of Paris, KY. Della is also survived by many nieces and nephews in various parts of the country that loved her immensely. Della’s love language was providing for others. She especially loved entertaining her family for holidays, birthdays, and occasionally, just a regular Sunday. Della was an amazing home cook; her family will tell you that her homemade fried chicken, cheeseball, and holiday fudges were second to none. Della was a proud member of Greenbrier Baptist Church in Fort Gay, WV. Her generous and loving spirit was felt by everyone around her. She never hesitated to help a neighbor, and frequently gave to the City Mission of Huntington, WV.
Della’s family would like to recognize her wonderful neighbors at Parkway Villas in Bradenton, FL, as well as the staff at Blake Medical Center and Tidewell Hospice Center, in Bradenton, FL. We will never be able to thank you enough. Your compassion, generosity, and care have carried us through this immeasurable loss.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Community Memorial Gardens in Wayne, WV at a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, Della’s family requests that donations be made in her honor to the City Mission in Huntington, WV.
