

grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend Dorothy Racht. She died peacefully surrounded by
her family on March 1, 2023.
Born, September 26, in Old Forge, to Joseph and Laura (Danoski) Fitt, she leaves behind her
brothers Joseph, William, and David and her sister Charlotte (Litwiniec) (Kolodziej).
She married Jack Racht and together in Dickson City raised their children John (Sharon Drake),
Linda (Michael) Chorba, Judith (Paul) Bailey, Nancy (Sosnowski) (John) Bogdanovicz, and Janet
(Kevin, dec. 2005) Johnson.
Dorothy’s greatest joy was receiving sweet and loving hugs from her 12 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren, while her most rewarding employment was at Moses Taylor Hospital
where she worked for 30 years.
A generous soul, Dorothy gave freely of her time and was always willing to lend a hand or
provide comfort and companionship. She also had a fun sense of humor and would never
hesitate to offer an honest opinion.
When Dorothy and Jack weren’t traveling to Alabaster, AL or Sarasota, FL they loved their
many drives to the New England area.
Please remember Dorothy with an act of kindness or by correcting someone’s improper use of
the English language.
She’ll be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Memorial Park, Sarasota, Fl and Frank T Mazur Funeral Home, Dickson City, PA.
A private service will be held at a later date.
