In my limited time with Doug I had the opportunity to work with a highly experienced and skilled engineer who made his knowledge readily available to his peers and society through his humility and genuine caring for others. Doug was an inspirational presence and will be missed.

I met Doug at Jones Edmunds and at first I was so intimidated by his knowledge and experience. Then, when I had the opportunity to support one of his projects, he quickly showed me kindness, patience, and appreciation. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity of working under Doug's supervision. He set an example of the kind of professional that I would like to become in the future. To his family I send you my condolences.

Doug and I had a few small opportunities to work together on projects. However we had many conversations on the proper way to spell and pronounce our last names and more often we exchanged phone messages for each other since people commonly mistook David Yonge for Doug Young. I will say, it was an honor to be mistaken for someone with the character and intelligence that Doug possessed. He was a terrific person and will be greatly missed.   

Doug was a wonderful person, gentleman and a dedicated professional  who led by example.  He will be missed by his colleagues and friends and my thoughts and prayers to his family. 

We have known Doug and Becky and their immediate family for many years through our church association.  They have inspired us through their dedication, service and devotion to our Heavenly Father, even when it was not easy for them at times.  We think of the laughter and joy your family have brought to us and are so appreciative of that influence in our lives.  Doug has passed on to that next glorious phase, and we know he will continue to serve as the Lord desires.   Our prayers continue for family and close friends as you cope, each in your own way, with Doug no  longer physically being present in your lives.       My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time, as we know that Brother Young has graduated to the next  step in Our Loving Heavenly Father’s Plan. 
         Having had Brother young as one of my Scout Leaders, he was always a man of many actions and few words. He always taught by example and had a love for teaching and helping all those around him, His patience was always inspiring as he was always there seeking to guide and uplift even when at times, we had other ideas. No matter where we found ourselves, he was always counted on to encourage and push us forward. With love and respect.

I had the honor of working with Doug the past several years and admire his commitment to his co-workers and others. He will be missed but definitely not forgotten. 

Doug was a co-worker, mentor, and most meaningful, kind, and generous friend. I have been lucky enough to have work with Doug twice in my career and he was instrumental in my professional life. He has left a strong, positive mark on my life and was highly respected and we will honor him.

My sincerest condolences to Doug's entire family.  It was wonderful to know and work with Doug.  He will be fondly remembered for his genuine personality, smile and many other attributes. Prayers for comfort and peace for all who loved and knew Doug.   

Doug was a very special person,  I was fortunate to have been able to work with him many years ago.   He was always willing to help and a great sounding board.  I still can't believe you are gone.  Thank you Doug for everything and sending love and prayers to your family.     

Doug was an exceptional engineer and co-worker and a natural problem solver.  He was an amazing mentor to so many but particularly enjoyed supporting the development of younger engineers.  It is comforting to know I will be able to see Doug in others work for many years to come.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to befriend this amazing man.  I will miss our conversations and laughter.

I met Doug in 1999 when we were both involved with utilities engineering. He was then, and across the 20 years since, a humble man with knowledge and integrity who communicated and met needs kindly and deliberately. He sought to understand before he spoke. He shared what he thought would help and followed through. Although I am a peer he was also a mentor to me. More was caught then taught as he humbly served clients and colleagues meeting needs they knew and some they didn't. 

Doug and I also spoke of family and caring for each of ours across the years.  Each of us and our families have unique stories. Love and service were themes I heard when we spoke. 

I am fortunate to have known Doug.

Doug was an amazing man to know. He was a hard worker and an excellent role model to a young coworker. His patience, integrity, and work ethic always inspired me and I am so grateful for the time that I had to work closely and learn from him. 
I will always remember the advice he gave me and the way he led his life - serving others and taking care of his family.  
He was a great man, and will be greatly missed, but he left an amazing memory of a mentor and friend.

We send our hugs and love to you guys in this tough time. May the angels reach down from above and hold you. He was a wonderful person and I remember what a great teacher he was to me all those years in primary.  His work will continue on. 

So sorry for your loss. I haven't seen Doug in many years, but will always remember him fondly.

The loss of someone near to us is never easy. Doug was such a kind soft-spoken man who smiled easily. He is and will be missed. His loss will not be easy and I want to extend my sympathy and support.
