Jr was predeceased in death by his wife, Deborah Mowdy; parents, Ernest Mowdy Sr. and Elizabeth Virginia McCloud; brother, Charles Mowdy; great grandson, Jonah Tillson.
He is survived by his fiance, Penny Johnson; son, Richard Mowdy and wife Kim; daughter, Elizabeth Nichols and husband Michael; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; three sisters.
A funeral service for Ernest will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. Following the funeral service will be a committal service and military honors at 1:00 PM at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
