Born on December 8, 1958, in Puerto Rico, Felipe was the beloved son of Felipe Cortes Garcia and Lucy Lemois Soto. He graduated in 1976 from Republica de Colombia and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez Campus in 1983, followed by a Master’s degree from the University of South Florida in 1996.
Felipe had a passion for restoring classic cars, playing and listening to music, and tackling do-it-yourself projects. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Felipe Cortes Garcia.
Felipe is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ana M. Hernandez-Cortes; his son, Felipe Cortes, and daughter-in-law, Kelli; his cherished grandson, Nolan; his mother, Lucy Lemois Soto and his sister, Awilda Gutierrez.
A private service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park.
