Mr. Etayo was born on April 1, 1931, in Oriente, Cuba, to the late Francisco Wenceslau and Emilia Etayo. He was a graduate of Pittman Technical College and had a diverse career. He worked in sugar cane agriculture in Central Najasa, Cuba, and later for Merrill Lynch in New York before his retirement.
He deeply loved his children and was a passionate fan of baseball and tennis.
He is survived by his children: Leticia and Cesar of Sarasota, Mayra of San Antonio, Texas, and Alida of Miami, Florida; his grandchildren: David Amos, Deva Ellis, Merry Hill, Cesar A., Kayla, Charisma, Kaleb, and Jordan; and his great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Xavier, Moriah, Xander, Aria, Everett, Adriana, and Everly.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota.
Arrangements are under the care of Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms.
