I am so saddened to hear of Mr. Kaye's death.  Truly saddened.  In his own quiet way, as Bob Baylies put it, he was a pillar of strength, integrity, and kindness. He was truly a treasure.  I will always, but always, remember the way he sprinkled gold dust through the days of my childhood with his kindness and inclusion of childhood friends into the family fold.  He adored his family.  What an example of a wonderful, wonderful person.  I considered him a second dad, and as such, loved him dearly.

Dear Valerie, I was so sad to hear of your loss.  I worked with your father at the World Bank in Security establishing fire safety regulations and procedures at our new HQ in DC.  In Security, we were proud of the precedent we were creating and Mike's integrity and ethics were not negotioable -- he stuck to his principles.  One of the nicest men I have ever worked with.  Please extend my condolences to Onda.

One of the best years of my time in the Arlington County Fire Service, I worked under Mike at Station 9. Mike was a good leader, teacher, and always had respect for his men. I will always remember and have respect for Mike. May GOD bless his family and help them thru there loss.

Life often takes us on paths uncharted and unknown and many times as we pass strangers on our journey they become friends and pillars of strength in our growth. I shall think of you often, my friend, not only for your quite ways but the strength you secretly gave all you touched. I know you are in heaven but you will be missed here on earth. Thank you for all you taught me about life. I will miss you my friend.

I only knew you for around a quarter of the time you have been apart of my wife Sarah's family. I was fortunate enough to have been able to spend that much time knowing one of the greatest examples of a true gentleman I will see in my life. I will continue to hear more great stories about you many many years from now.
