Born in Salem, Indiana, Geneva lived a life marked by love, dedication to family, and care for others. She was known for her strength, wisdom, kindness, generous spirit, and prayer. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, where family gathered, laughter was shared, and lifelong bonds were formed.
Geneva was preceded in death by both of her beloved husbands, Frank T. W. Chin and Pastor Claude F. Wilson.
Geneva first married Frank T. W. Chin, with whom she shared many happy years of marriage and raised four children. Together they owned and operated the China Inn restaurant in Miami. Frank often expressed his deep love for his family by saying he was a millionaire—not because of money, but because his wife was worth a million dollars to him and each of his four children were worth a million dollars as well.
Frank's untimely passing at the age of 43 left Geneva a young widow with four children to raise. Demonstrating remarkable strength, determination, and faith, she continued operating the family restaurant until it could be sold while providing for her children during a difficult time.
Geneva trusted God through every chapter of her life. She met both blessings and hardships with grace, courage, and gratitude, reflecting Christ’s love through her words and actions.
During this time, Geneva attended Northwest Baptist Church, where she met Claude Wilson, who led a Bible study she attended.
Geneva later married Pastor Claude Wilson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, ministry, and service. Together they ministered for many years at Lee Boulevard Baptist Church. As a pastor's wife, Geneva was known for her hospitality, encouragement, prayer, and compassion for others.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Bob, Frank, Ping, Timothy, and Tina; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; extended family members; and dear friends who will cherish her life and example.
The words of Proverbs perfectly reflect the woman she was:
"She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh without fear at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue."
— Proverbs 31:25–26
And truly,
"Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her."
— Proverbs 31:28
So now we say goodbye, releasing Geneva with love and gratitude for all she has given us. We find comfort knowing that she is reunited with Frank, Claude, and loved ones who have gone before her, whole and at peace in the presence of her Lord.
Her legacy lives on through her family, whose lives were shaped by her devotion, guidance, and example. Family and friends are invited to gather in thanksgiving for Geneva's life and celebrate the blessing she was to so many. Though we miss her deeply, we rejoice in God’s promises and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
