He was a 1965 graduate of Boylan Catholic High School & graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. Gregg
was an employee of Pierce Box & Paper for 28 years before buying the company & being at its helm for an additional 16 years before retiring. He was a fair & empathetic man, had an open-door policy & a ready ear for any & all. His advice was sought after & always given with thoughtfulness & good intention. He loved all sports & could call the games better than the broadcasters. He enjoyed reading, music, traveling, cards, dinners out & a great necktie.
His intellect, humor, & generosity was extraordinary.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Laurel Gibbs Franchini; daughter, Stephanie Franchini, & her partner, Tom Bell; as well as a host of close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis & Dorris Franchini & infant brother, Jeffrey Paul.
He was truly a measure of a man & will be sorely missed.
A memorial gathering will take place in Rockford, Illinois, at a later date. Remembrances may be made to Noah’s Ark in Rockford Illinois.
