On March 21st of 1925, a very special man was born to James and Eva Soward. He had four loving and caring siblings, Clarence (Francis), James Jr., Ralph (Diane) and Evelyn (Sherm). They lived on a farm owned by James and Eva. Later, Harry grew up to live with his wife, Melba, of 28 years. They had three wonderful children Michael David, Rickey Lee and Carol Joan. After working hard, he graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and became a minister for 18 years of his life. During this time, he taught school. He later progressed to become a principal in Sarasota County and then a supervisor of media.
His son Rickey(Rick) had two children, Sharma Herring (Monti) and Shana Pearl(Brian). His daughter Carol (Joanie) Shultz (Jack) also had two children Jackie Shultz and Jeanette Tuck(Robby). Harry was proud to call these girls his grandchildren. Then his grandchildren began to have children of their own. His great grandchildren, Emmaleigh Floyd, Nathan Pearl, Ryder Tuck, Dawson Tuck, Brianna Pearl, Corbin Tuck and Beckham Tuck. He loved his family with all his heart. His best friend was Mark Loomis, better known as Uncle Mark.
Harry W. Soward lived a beautiful and full life with his kids, grandkids, great grandkids and best friend by his side. He passed on November 18 of 2025. His great grandkids will never forget his “cwocwate doughnut” days.
