

Ira Markowitz was the beloved husband of his wonderful and devoted wife Judi, who dedicated her entire life to loving and caring for him and their family. The bond was one of deep love, partnership and devotion, and it stood at the center of Ira’s life.
Born to Morris and Rosie (Ray) Markowitz. He was a wonderful, loving son.
Ira was the proud father of two daughters, Mindy and Holly, and beloved son n law Leo. His greatest joy came from his family, especially his grandchildren, Michael (Huong), Ashley, Marissa, Hayden (Olivia), and his cherished great grandchildren, Ella and Theodore who brought him endless pride and happiness.
A hardworking man through and through, Ira with Judi owned and operated Men’s clothing store for his entire career, providing for his family with dedication and pride. His work ethic was unmatched, and his commitment to doing what was right.
He was known for his wisdom, fairness, and the quiet authority that came from living with strong principals.
Above all, Ira was a loving and amazing man, steady, dependable, and deeply devoted to those he loved. His presence, guidance and love will be profoundly missed, lessons and spirit will live on through the generations he leaves behind.
He will be forever missed and may his memory be a blessing, and his name be written in the book of life.
A gathering of friends & family will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. A reception will be held following the service from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM also at the funeral home.

Shiva will be held at their home, 4239 65th Terrace East, Sarasota, FL on Friday, January 16th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
An additional shiva will be held at 954 Bolender Drive, Delray Beach, FL from Sunday, January 18th through Tuesday, January 20th.
