James Louis McCarthy, 93, of Sarasota, FL passed away on Monday July 11th, 2016 after a long and full life that included traveling to many exotic destinations, including Paris and London. Originally from Middletown, Ohio, he moved to Florida in 1995 from Utica, Michigan. He served in the United States Navy from September 1942 through August of 1946, and later worked for the Michigan Employment Security Commission, as well as the Labor Department in Washington D.C. Music was one of his greatest joys which he shared with many as a professional pianist for most of his adult life. He is survived by his son Dennis McCarthy Sr. and 6 grand children and a host of other family. In respect of his wishes, there will be no services. He will be cremated and laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery. He will be greatly missed.
