He worked in sales for a Building Supply Company in Baton Rouge.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Joanie D. Whitley (Bobby) of Sarasota, FL; sister, Kathleen Kollack of ND and cherished grandchildren, Ashley Nash (Shalon) of Anacoco, LA, Leanne McWilliams (Matt) of Chattanooga, TN and Logan Whitley of Nashville, TN; and great grandchildren, Shayla and Hunter Nash, and Asher Wade and Archer James McWilliams.
Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail; son Kent and twin brother, Jay.
He was a 28 year member of Bee Ridge Baptist Church.
A Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Fri. Sep. 22, 2017 at Bee Ridge Baptist Church followed by Interment at Sarasota National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
Memorial Contributions in Jim's memory may be made to Sarasota Humane Society.
