Jane H Goehrig, 106, of Sarasota, FL was a lovely woman. She died, peacefully, at The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch on March 31, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Goehrig, and by her daughter, Sally Simet. She grew up in Trenton, NJ, and graduated from Trenton High School and Arcadia University. In 1942, at the age of 23, she traveled across the country, by train, from Trenton to Tacoma, to marry Jack and to then accompany him to Army bases in Washington, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, and Texas before he deployed to Europe.
After the war, she and Jack lived and raised their family in Yardley, PA. In 1966 they retired to Ft Lauderdale and moved to Sarasota in 1983. They enjoyed traveling, and it would be hard to name a place worth visiting that they didn't visit. They toured Europe, Asia, most of the national parks in the US and Canada, and all 50 states. In their later years, they were avid cruisers.
Following Jack's death, in 2003, Jane moved to The Glenridge, a CCRC, where she was one of its first residents. There she found the community and support that, along with her upbeat disposition, Catholic faith, and Irish genes, enabled her to live a long and happy last chapter.
She is survived by her son David, her grandchildren; Christine Deveney, (Tom) and Brian Burns, her great-grandchildren; Connor Deveney, Morgan Deveney, and Michael Burns and her great-great-granddaughter, Fallon Burns.
