

Jeanette Williams 88 years young passed away peacefully at her home in Sarasota, Florida on May 4th, 2025. She was born in Hatton Township, Michigan on June 14, 1936 to Mack and Muriel (Lena) Harvey Sr. She grew up in Farwell, Michigan and attended school there. She graduated from Farwell High School in 1954. She met the love of her life Ben Williams and they married on June 19, 1954. All their children were born in Michigan but while visiting her sister, June and her family in January 1967 in Florida she and Ben were bit by the amazing weather there. They moved in August to Sarasota. They have been there ever since.
She retired from Dana Hydraulics to spend time with Ben, her family and grandkids traveling the United States. She was active in bowling, mounted equestrian drill teams acting as the Vice President of the Sunshine State Mounted Drill Team Association, INC. for 20 years. She was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s and was elected Madame President of Women’s Auxiliary 2001-2002. She was president of Silver Sam’s travel club for multiple years making life long friends. She enjoyed quilting, making many for her family. She made her granddaughter Danielle’s wedding dress (talk about pressure). Jeanette never met anyone she didn’t consider a friend. She always had a smile and conversation for everyone. She was active at Colonial Oaks Baptist Church.
Jeanette has left a legacy of family including her children, son, Rod ( Paula) Williams Sr. of Farwell, Michigan, son, Tim Williams, of Tampa, Florida, daughter, Dalynn ( Edgar) Sotomayor of Stuart, Florida and daughter, Melodee Williams of Sarasota, Florida; Grandchildren, Rodney Williams Jr. of North Dakota, Stacy (Devin) Delong of Farwell, Michigan, Steven (Ella) Williams of Clare, Michigan, Justin (Melanie) Sotomayor of Canton, Georgia, Danielle Buddin of Port St Lucie, Florida and Kiya Williams of Marseilles, Illinois. She leaves 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by loving husband, Ben; siblings, sister, June Riley and brother, Mack Harvey Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232.
Burial at Sarasota National Cemetery will be private.
Family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5957 Rand Blvd. Sarasota Fl. 34238 in honor of Jeanette Williams.
She will be greatly missed and always loved.
