Jeannette Liberata DePina Oliveira, 92 years of age, passed on November 10, 2024, at Windsor Assisted Living in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Jeannette passed in peace - with faith in salvation and eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jeannette was born on March 1, 1932 in Wareham, MA. She was the second of eight children born to John and Mary DePina. The DePina family shares a proud Cape-Verdean heritage and culture with close family bonds. Jeannette spent her formative years hard at work, often in the cranberry bogs of Massachusetts. After high school she married, moved to Boston, and raised four children.
With her children grown, Jeannette rejoined the workforce. She was an assistant manager at Robell’s department store for several years. She then spent many more years as a claims assistant at New England Life. She finished her career as a sales associate in the jewelry department of Sears, retiring at the age of 62. She loved to travel with friends - most notably to the island of Bermuda.
In later years, she resided comfortably with her daughter Karyn, and son-in-law, Kevin, in Lakewood Ranch, FL. As a retiree with abundant blessings of siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her days were filled with joy and peace. Although removed from her New England roots, she kept in contact with her family and friends on a daily basis.
Jeannette was pre-deceased by parents John and Mary (nee Matthews); siblings Jules and Donald DePina; and son Keith Oliveira. Jeannette is survived by brothers John and Manuel DePina (Beverly); sisters Inez Delgado, Lorraine Gonsalves and Dolly O’Neil (Joe); daughters Cynthia Baptiste and Karyn Oliveira Ayala (Kevin); and son Kevin Oliveira. Jeannette is also survived by grandchildren: Barry and Tarsha Baptiste, Keith Daye, Cameron and Chelsea Ayala, Kevin Oliveira, Lachelle Oliveira, and Dimitre Banks. Jeannette is also survived by great-grandchildren: Briana Flores-Daye, Kiya Daye, Keiana Haughton, Davanna Oliveira, Khori Polarchy, Kiari Oliver, A’Mya Oliveira, Mia Oliveira, and Mila Banks – and one great-great grandchild, Carmelo Adams.
