Joan was born in Markham, Ontario Canada. She is predeceased by her parents Elizabeth (Routecliff) and Roy Penny of Markham, Ontario Canada.
Joan passed away peacefully in her sleep after several years with Parkinson's and Dementia. For 63 years she was the very best friend, wife, companion, and confidant to her husband David. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, friend, and family member. Joan is survived by her husband David, a daughter Penny (Don) Heinrich, a son Gordon (Gina) Hadden, proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Joy, David, Loren, and Mia, and a great granddaughter, Lorelei.
Family and friends will be received at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232 on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., followed by a committal service inside the Chapel of the Palms at Palms Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m., 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
