

Joan Kindred died peacefully in Sarasota, Florida on Thursday, December 31st, 2015. Joan was an elegant and stylish woman, who was born in Poughkeepsie New York, and lived in many places including St. Louis Missouri, Silver Springs Maryland, and New York City. She graduated from the University of Maryland, she married John Joseph Kindred in New York City, and they had one child, Drewry Ann Kindred. While living in NYC Joan had a successful acting and modeling career for 30 years, and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Colony Club, Snarks Ltd, and also volunteered for Sheltering Arms. After her divorce, Joan retired to Sarasota around 1997 and became very involved in the arts community, and a member of many organizations including, Democratic Party, Asolo Play Readers, Asolo Guild, the Field Club, the Media Round Table, Friends of Sarasota Ballet, Broadcasters Club, and served on the Board of Directors at The Banyan Theater. Joan’s passions included animals, traveling and playing croquet with her dear friends. She is survived by Drewry Ann Kindred. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday January 6th at 11:00am at the Palms-Robarts Funeral Home at 170 Honore Avenue Sarasota Florida 34232.
