Joanne & Robert "Bob" E. Lockley were married for 66 years from July 2, 1953 to September 15, 2019 when Robert died. They are reunited now with Christ.

Other loving family to be acknowledged because of our closeness on Sunday afternoons and “Liverpool Rummy” are Cindy & Rick Clavelli & family, Amy & Jim DiSalvo & family, David & Beth & Peggy Altier, Steve & Judy Altier & family, Sarah & Jeff Altier & family, Janey & Jay Oswald & family and Larry & Palm Altier & family.
Joanne graduated with her high school diploma from NECA Hi (New Castle High School) in 1950 and she married the love of her life on July 2, 1953. Joanne & Bob raised up their children in New Castle, PA until 1967 when they moved to Sarasota, FL with high hopes of making “Uncle Bob’s Fish Camp” a success. They bought their house right beside Larry & Susy Altier, Bob’s beloved sister & brother-in-law and created the first “compound”. Football (eventually banned by A. Susy because of injury); Volley-ball, swimming, Christmas Eve, singing, loud discussions (sometimes arguments) and love abounded at the compound. When the children grew up and moved out, Joanne continued to bring them home by having Sunday dinners every Sunday. She continued the tradition until Parkinson’s and a stroke affected her ability to walk steadily.
Joanne leaves a legacy of love behind. She loved (first & foremost) God the Father, Christ the Son & the Holy Spirit. To further her understanding of the Trinity, she prayed daily, read the Bible & commentaries. She witnessed her love to whomever she spoke with and her favorite verse in the Bible was “God is Love.”
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St. Wilfred Episcopal Church, 3773 Wilkinson Rd., Sarasota, FL 34232. Following the service all are invited to the Compound for the wake, Alice and Alex Perry's home, located at 5643 Britannia Dr., Sarasota, FL 34231.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Food Pantry at St. Wilfred Episcopal Church or Tidewell Hospice.
The family of Joanne Marie Lockley wish to thank the Reverend Virginia Herring, The Reverend Joyce Holmes and William Moore from St. Wilfred Episcopal Church for their continued and most loving support, respect and love.
